About Us

Things We Are Doing

The Stittsville Muslim Association (SMA) was formed in 2019 to create a strong Muslim community and provide a much-needed prayer space for the growing Muslim population of Stittsville. SMA, the first mosque in Stittsville, is a registered charity which is managed and maintained by dedicated volunteers. SMA helps create a sense of community and belonging for Muslims across Stittsville (and the greater Ottawa area).

SMA strongly believes in community engagement as Muslims have been an integral part of the wider Canadian society since 1854 when the first Muslims migrated to Ontario. SMA is committed to civic and civil engagement with communities of other faiths and society at large. With the help of Allah SWT, we envision a community center which attracts and empowers youth, supports families, cares for elders, and enables those who want to make a positive contribution to the community. May Allah SWT make it a place of gathering of which the angels speak about, Ameen.
