A growing community serving Muslims across Stittsville and the Ottawa region since 2019.
The Stittsville Muslim Association was formed in 2019 to create a strong Muslim community and provide a much needed prayer space for the growing Muslim population of Stittsville. SMA, the first mosque in Stittsville, is a registered charity managed and maintained by dedicated volunteers.
Our Mission
SMA exists to serve the spiritual, educational, and community needs of Muslims in Stittsville and the greater Ottawa area. As a registered charity run entirely by volunteers, we provide a daily prayer space, weekly Jumu’ah, Islamic education programs for children and youth, and community gatherings throughout the year.
Our Vision
A purpose built masjid in Stittsville that anchors a thriving Muslim community for generations to come. A place where children learn their deen, families find belonging, and neighbours of all backgrounds feel welcomed.
Volunteer with SMA
SMA is run entirely by volunteers from our community. Whether you can offer a few hours a month or take on a regular role, your contribution helps us serve more families. Volunteer opportunities include event coordination, teaching at our Sunday and Saturday schools, fundraising, facility maintenance, and more.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors at SMA is responsible for administering day to day affairs, taking care of and maintaining the facilities, managing expenses, and performing such acts as may be necessary for achieving the goals, vision, and overall objectives of SMA.
