Dear SMA Community Member,

Insha’Allah you and your loved ones in the best of health and faith. Alhumdulillah we are grateful for your support and patience as we navigate the pandemic together. We are happy to share some of the progress we are making with serving our community’s diverse needs for spiritual and social connections Insha’Allah.

A) New SMA Community Room and Activities of Interest Poll Results:
Alhumdulillah our new community room is now available for use with the support of generous community donors Masha’Allah. In addition to the Friday and five daily prayers held at the prayer hall mussalla following covid protocols, we’re excited to bring  programs, to be delivered free of cost or at minimal cost, aimed to boost your faith and lift your spirit Insha’Allah based on the recent SMA Community Activities Interest Poll. Most of you are looking for connecting with the community in engaging and relevant programs. Have a look at the current offerings, and please join us to volunteer.

B) Programs in February & March 2022 Insha’Allah (Online and In-person) 
Please note vaccine passport required for all in person programs ages 12+. Please register ahead to ensure we can reserve a spot for you. Mandatory to follow all covid safety measures as appliable. Please be considerate and do not attend in person if you are unwell. We have ten programs happening to meet your needs Insha’Allah:

1) SMA Board Games Club with Sr Israa and Sr Aween Insha’Allah
For Children ages 7 to 11 years – BRING A GAME TO SHARE & PLAY!
Thursdays – 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm – Feb 17 to Mar 31
SMA Community Room – masks mandatory.

2) Salam Stittsville – Professional Muslims Networking
Grow professional connections and make new friends! Our new program for young Muslim professionals. Our coordinators Br. Rehan, Sr. Sara, and Br. Murtaza are looking forward to bringing you fun meet and greet events to grow your professional learning experience and meet new friends Insha’Allah in a safe environment for brothers and sisters. Geared for ages 21 and up. Brothers & Sisters welcome to join the monthly meet and greet events. Our first event is this Monday, Feb 14th, Insha’Allah in the SMA Community room. Vaccine passport required, must register ahead of the event online.

3) SMA Match Making with Amber & Atif Siddiqi Insha’Allah.
Are you looking for the right person to marry? Don’t know where to start? The coordinators will run special events as well based on demand.

4) Youth Girls High School Spiritual Sisters Halaqa and Fun Meeting on Feb 19th with Sr Maimoona Insha’Allah.

5) Love to learn French? Bonjour! French Club for Kids 
Do you want your kids to improve their French? Sign-up for our Free French Club with Sr Zeinab starting Feb 17th Insha’Allah online from the comfort of your home!

6) Sisters Yoga (Women only Ages 19+) with certified trainer Sr. Maria
Gain strength, relieve stress, improve mental health to be ready for an energized Ramadan Insha’Allah!
Saturdays 10:00 am to 11:00 am – Feb 26th to March 26, 2022 In-person at SMA Community Room
Vaccine passport required. Must follow covid safety rules.

7) SMA March Math Club with Sr. Tasneem
Are you a student in grades 8 to 12? Do you want extra math practice? Do want to get some tips on developing good study habits? Free math help by professional tutor Sr Tasneem for grades 8 to 12 at SMA Community Room Insha’Allah from March 4 to 25th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm for all registered students. 8) Faith Education for Kids – ongoing with Sh. Khalid Jarrar

9) Learn to Read Quran – Basics – ongoing with Teacher Amera
SMA Noorania Quran Learning to Read with Tr. Amera
Ongoing for beginners to learn to read the Quran holy book using the Noorania curriculum.

10) Faith Reflections – SMA Special Fajr program with Br. Umar – ongoing
Happening at the Stittsville Musalla on Saturday and Sunday Insha’Allah starting from Fajr salah (prayer) to fifteen minutes past sunrise, spend your time in prayer and contemplation, remembrance and reflection. Family event.

C) We Need Your Support for Our Mussalla @1530 Main Street and Community Programs:
Located at Unit C & D – 1530 Main Street, we offer a space for Friday and regular prayers following COVID safety regulations Masha’Allah for Stittsville residents. D) Volunteers 
Volunteers are the backbone of our community. If you have skills in IT/coding, Quran, Tajweed, Arts, Storytelling, and more, please email us your resume and your program proposal for consideration. Youth are eligible to get volunteer hours Insha’Allah.
