SMA Musallah Campaign – Ramadan 2021

CHARITABLE STATUS

We are pleased to announce, that by the blessings of Allah SWT, the Stittsville Muslim Association (SMA) application for charitable status has been now been APPROVED.  Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) # 78386 2279 RR0001.

Al-Hamdulillah, with your support, SMA has reached yet another important milestone, following the recent establishment of a community Musallah earlier in the fall.  Currently, SMA is working towards full adherence to all CRA requirements, Insha’Allah.

CALL TO ACTION

Now we need your generous support to RAISE the necessary funds to cover our monthly fixed costs (including rent, bills, snow removal etc) to allow SMA to continue to offer services and grow.  Currently, we have approximately 1/3rd of our fixed monthly costs (~$1000) covered by generous monthly donors of the community, but we need your help to raise the remaining funds (total of $2000 additional monthly donations needed or $50,000 in total donations to cover the remaining fixed costs for the next year, Insha’Allah).

Please VISIT our website: www.stittsvillemuslims.ca to find out more about ways to donate (Paypal one-time/monthly, e-transfer, cheque or cash) and also on how to become a registered SMA member.  Remember, if you donate before December 31st, you can maximize your annual charitable donation for this year and up to $40% of your donation can be returned on your income tax return by claiming tax receipts!

Thank you and JazakumAllah Khairan for your on-going support. Your du’aas and donations will go a long way to maintain the SMA Musallah & future services for the Stittsville community, Insha’Allah. May Allah SWT keep you and your loved ones in good health and strong in imaan. Ameen.

SMA Food Drive for Stittsville Food Bank

Will you help fill the emptying shelves of Stittsville Food Bank and help feed those people in need?

For this purpose, Stittsville Muslim Association (SMA) is running a food drive to collect non-perishable food items AND collect monetary donations to buy Halal food supplies for the food bank. To fill an empty stomach is one of the best forms of charity, especially during the ongoing COVID outbreak, where many people in the community are unable to work and feed their families.

Please consider donating $20 (or whatever amount you can give) via email transfer (send transfer to [email protected] and put ‘food bank’ in the description).

You can also drop off non-perishable Halal food items at one of the participating volunteer homes (see below) in a bin located on their porch OR at the Musallah during Fajr, Isha or Jumuah, iA.  Please make sure food is not expired, unopened and in good condition.

Some suggested items include: rice, oil, kidney beans, tomato cans, chickpeas, lentils, pasta, cereal

Drop off locations below are active from Oct 23rd until Oct 31st.

  • 29 Forestview Cresent
  • 789 Campolina Way
  • 330 Percheron Way
  • 358 Rouncy Road
  • 148 Gederland Private
